The Sun Is The Common Cause Of Dry Skin

Dry skin problems can be caused by a number of factors but the sun is one of the most common causes of this condition. UVB radiation from the sun penetrates into our skin and causes it to increase production of melanin-the body’s natural defense against the sun. This will cause the skin to darken, thicken, and dry out which is why you need total skin care protection like a moisturizer made with a heavy sun block. Other potential causes of dry skin include: excessive bathing or using harsh soaps that remove too much oil, alcohol, toxins, caffeine or other stimulants, low humidity and chlorinated water.
