Tooth Loss: The Common Result Of Periodontal Disease

The serious bacterial infection that destroys the gums and the surrounding tissues of the mouth is called periodontal disease. The condition causes an inflammation in the gums and if left untreated it will eventually lead to tooth loss for the underlying bones around the teeth will be dissolved and thus will not be able to hold the teeth in place. Periodontal disease is responsible for tooth losses in adults and moreover affecting many people, even teenagers at some point in their lives.

This may signal gums that are bleeding, red, swollen, tender, receding gums, tooth loss, chronic bad breath, chewing may become painful, and pus between teeth and gums.
